The Bike to Work Book is a colourful guide for wannabe bike commuters, produced by Carlton Reid and Tim Grahl and is available in print or downloadable in pdf. I had this link sitting around for awhile and decided to finally see if you find it interesting.
The two guys have their own bike sites and blogs: Reid with bikebiz.com, quickrelease.tv and Grahl with the Crooked Cog network of bike blogs including Commute by Bike and Twenty Nine Inches. These guys are good at cross-promotion with all their websites, videos, and now book.
I've only looked at a sampler so my impression is shallow. It looks like a glossy, well-produced book with a strong magazine feel with the prominent display of cycling-related ads and images throughout, which makes for lighter reading than similar commuting books. It's probably a good read, though I'm not really motivated to buy it since I could probably write a similar book. The website gives the impression there's a full free download, but at the time there's just the sampler. Perhaps someone could go and buy and lend it to me.
The video is from quickrelease.tv - fitting a cam to film your commute.

Not sure video cameras are an advisable option for all
Wed, 09/30/2009 - 00:04If a person recorded/collected and played back again and again for themselves the number of near fatal transgressions committed against them by Ontario's motorists they would probably end up so angry and frustrated that they would eventually start throwing 40lb rocks off highway overpasses(or slashing tires or keying cars or who knows).
Not having the video record helps you to forget... dare I say, forgive... that and a few beers in extreme cases. Perhaps ignorance is bliss? - though if that were true there should be more happy people around!
Consider my friendly warning against the camera, besides, "justice" can/will only do so much for you(ocassionally nothing) and you'll never enjoy your commute noticing, documenting and then going back a reliving every jerk move drivers make.

Wed, 09/30/2009 - 15:02I agree with electric. I have had a video cam on my bike for a good while, but if I used it to capture/publish bad driver behaviour, it would eat all of my time and be very boring after a while. Instead, I use the funny / bizarre things you see when you ride, and sometimes use it for commuting self-education, usually by posting video and asking my very smart readers how they would do it...

Not for entertainment...
Wed, 09/30/2009 - 15:51...but it would be a great silent witness in your next accident.
How else can you guarantee you have someone impartial testifying when it's "he said-she said" time....?!
