Toronto is fortunate to have a long tradition of Bike Week, and this year it has been extended to Bike Month. But long before Bike Month, Toronto is hosting two events that should be of interest to all cyclists who take to our streets and parks on their pedal powered wheels. They are both happening in April.

As you may know, Jarvis Street is being re-designed from Bloor to Queen (see http://www.toronto.ca/involved/projects/jarvis/). Incredibly, the city is not considering bike lanes on this very wide and fast road (currently 5 car lanes) because:
1) there already are lanes on Sherbourne
2) there isn't enough space for bike lanes, and
3) bike lanes aren't a part of their beautification objective.

I just came back from the 22 division's police station. I went there to have my complaint heard. Staff sergeant Glen Dewling (#2704) was good enough to listen to my complaint. He was prepared with his paperwork to hear my complaint about a specific officer. After reading my letter, he realized that it wasn't a specific officer I was complaining about, but the "we" in the officer's comment, as you'll see in the letter I wrote to them.
