Martin Neale will put his decades of cycling passion into Toronto's newest bike shop scheduled to open in April this year. Located just east of Dufferin at 1073 College Street next to the cozy Common Cafe, Hoopdriver Bicycles will look after the needs of everything for the everyday cyclist from bike commuter to the inspired randonneur. Until the opening his shop is displaying a fine collection of classic cycling quotes. Keep an eye the future store website for more info and updates

Thu, 02/26/2009 - 18:02Riding to work I was hit by streetcar 4206 about 12:05 pm approximately in front of CBN on Queen St. We were both eastbound. No sign of cognizance from the driver other than clanging the bell immediately before hitting. He drove away as if nothing had happened or it was acceptable to hit other road users.
Coming home my neighbour practically parks on my back wheel when I stopped in front of my apartment.
Are motorists without fucking tards or homicidal maniacs? What justifies this behaviour?

Probably the same thing that
Fri, 02/27/2009 - 14:18Probably the same thing that makes you feel justified in using "tard" in such a manner. (ALL) people do insensitive, idiotic things all the time. It can't be help.
Stop crying and call the police. The law seems quite firmly on your side with the street car issue.

Moronic Motorists
Wed, 03/18/2009 - 07:11Hi Martin,
Motorists in the UK think they own the road and cyclists dont as they dont pay road Tax duty! Therefore its OK to force em off the road!!!!
As an ex cyclist I always indicate before overtaking a cyclist and give him "The six foot wobble" as it suggests in our Highway Code.
Good luck with "HOOPDRIVER CYCLES"

Call the police!
Thu, 02/26/2009 - 22:01What justifies this behaviour is people that do not immediately call the Toronto Police and request that charges be laid. A hit-and-run with a whole streetcar full of witnesses seems like an airtight case to me. Losing his drivers' license also means that the streetcar driver loses his job with the TTC. Those types of consequences will change behaviour.
Remember, no consequences = no behaviour change
