Urbane has been my favourite
Wed, 05/06/2009 - 10:24Urbane has been my favourite since before I even moved to Toronto from Ottawa. Mainly because of their collection of "interesting" bikes, and also their staff / owners.
Hoopdriver Bicycles on College east of Dufferin just opened up too, and it's turning into a great shop for the commuter / touring / rando crowd as well. Nice owner too. :)
The Bike Joint (esp. Derek, the owner) gets huge points for being very involved in cycling advocacy, and most recently for their podcast.
I also like Sweet Pete's as it's the second-closest-to-home, and their staff have always been friendly and quick to help.

I like Cycle Solutions on Kingston Road.
Wed, 05/06/2009 - 11:50I bought my bike from them. I have been back for a few tune-ups, and always got great service. It's the best in the upper-beaches/east-york/southwest-scarborough area.

Seconded for the boys at Cycle Solutions, Kingston road
Wed, 05/06/2009 - 18:50I bought my daily rider from them over 2 years ago, and they've greeted me by name every time I go back for a tune-up. 2 years of free tune-ups and me doing 30km /day means they couldn't be making too much off the initial sale, but they've made it up in loyalty - I recommend them to anyone I hear of contemplating getting a bike - they take the time to sort out exactly what you need, their mechanics are diligent and dedicated, and the floor staff enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and just plain nice folks.
A new bike this summer is in the works, and they'll be selling that one to me too.

Thu, 05/07/2009 - 12:02I am putting in an enthusiastic vote for Sandy's Cycle in the east end.
I drive from way out in Brampton to get my wheels seen to there. I have had excellent service at Urbane, Cogs, Cycle Solutions on Parliament, and Curbside, but Sandy's is still a huge help to me.
