Good show
Thu, 11/22/2007 - 12:41I got up a bit late but managed to listen to the Calgary feed on CBC 3 hours later.
Dave's a good spokesman, answered the questions well and brought up concerns in a thoughtful way. Safety issues were the main topic as I expected, I hope they didn't deter anyone from thinking about dusting off their bike since they can be addressed. They pointed out that licensing would have this discouraging effect we want to avoid.
Two women, each cycling advocates from Vancouver and Montreal gave a sense of how their cities are progressing, the host Anna Maria Tremonti told of her Berlin riding experiences with special traffic lights for the separated bike lanes.
Non riders might get the sense that many major cities around the world are beginning major cyclist initiatives, we're seeing a real change they can be part of.
